Gore would surely not only have signed the Kyoto Protocol, but made America a leader in the fight against global warming, and the switch to sustainable energy. My thoughts on the slave issue is this. When you watch the news on television it is almost impossible to not be affected by it emotionally. It is geared towards keeping people misinformed and in fear of something. My favorite examples are the Uni-Bomber, the Antrhax letters and the bombing of the Oklahoma Federal building. We were told for weeks that the CIA/FBI/NSA were looking for a middle eastern terrorist as the Uni-Bomber. Even the 'composite' picture that was circulated was in that vein. When they finally decided to bring Mr. Kazinski in it was no big deal. The FBI had known where he was and what he was doing for years, they let him bomb at least one building with full knowledge who did it. (you won't find that on CNN now, but it was mentioned in the 90's on main stream news). Same with the Anthrax letters. It was some disgruntled person (the story of that person's death was recently on the news and not a middle easterner) and the OK bombing. I saw the reports as it happened, they were 'looking for two middle easterners' in connection with the bombing. But it turns out it was some 'patriots'. Oh, that last part about the patriots was another thing that was obviously a misleading statement as most patriot groups really are that, patriots who are concerned about the borders of their states and the fact that the US Military has taken the National Guard and Reserves and sent them overseas (National Guard is supposed to stay home and guard our borders). So they created some militia groups calling themselves patriots, but we are supposed to be afraid of them. I know a few of them and I would ask for help from one of them before I would ever expect the police or the military to help. So, in the 70's I noticed something about the network media. I did not read the paper much, still don't. But television is everywhere. There was a pattern to each networks movie of the week and it seemed like they were in cooperation with the themes of the movie of the week. One week NBC's movie would be 'disaster of the week', ABC would be 'disease of the week', and CBS would do 'crime of the week'. Next week it would rotate, but every week there would be one of each type of movie with an occassional comedy or romance thrown in. As long as the majority of the population is afraid to think for themselves or question then the county consists of slaves. It is done in most of the worlds countries, not just the U.S. In fact, I was appalled that the last two U.S. presidential elections get so much attention from our siblings in the UK, Canada and Australia. They have their own elections and politics to worry about, but they have been told that ours trumps theres and sets the tone for the rest of the world, which is not true. If anyone sets the tone it is and has been the UK. We are in the middle east now because of things that were set up in France and the UK hundreds of years ago. nothing that goes on now politically in theU.S. is new or spontaneous. (not since the late 1700s).
