Yes, been a while...good to see you as well

I can only share what works for me - being extriemly present and focusing on what is good and abundant in my life, which I am blessed to say is much! I have the unsurity of where my income will come from as I am not "employed", but focused on the fact that right here, right now, I do have all that I need. I may not be able to run out and buy everything I desire, but that is not what makes me happy. I see the abundance I am experiencing.

I've recently began a program called I Create This! (www.icreatethis.com) and helping people to tap into their innate ability to create their own reality and manifest what they choose. As my daily focus is on helping people write their possitive affirmative Manifestation Maps for the subconcious mind, I'm in a very possitive and connected state of mind. Even the negative news does not seem to break through and dampen as I know that I am in charge of what I create and choose to experience. So focusing on the negative, stressful stuff would just destroy the creation of abundance and beauty in my life!

Faith/belief is definatley a major player though! You can say all the affirmations you want, but if you don't believe them, it will be very difficult to manifest, as your simple doubt is another manifestation canceling out your possitive affirmation.

There is a story of a Native American Medicine Man who would go to the beach every day. One day, he noticed a strange ripple in the water, but did not know what caused it. Every day he would go to the shore and look at the horizon, noticing this change in the water, but not seeing anything. Finally, one day, he saw a ship. It was so unfamiliar that he had been unable to see it up until that moment.

For many, not worrying about the "what ifs" is so unfamiliar, it's difficult to see the opportunities and abundance of what is right in front of you :)

Love and abundance
Rae

p.s. weren't you just longing for the old days of discussion on tribe? Put out an intention and look what happened ;) Don't you just love it!

Different people have different circumstances. I tend to take things pretty easily & evenly, usually... one day at a time. But my lifestyle is not the common modern North American one, either. I live on rural land where we grow large gardens, have a bit of an orchard. I'm something of a handyman too, and I have a lot of experience with carpentry and rural water systems, a certain amount with mechanics, metal work (including welding), etc. And I have neighbors who have skills, including some I don't have. Plus I have a part-time job.

All this tends to even out the hard times.

But I agree that faith is important (as is a vision of things, and an ability to meditate & center, etc).

eek, Rae, my bad on the grammar. maybe the better way to say it is: a time of increased invitation to have more faith. (it's more what I meant, came out funny.)

what's the suggestion, then, for people who are severely hit by this slump (losing jobs, taking a beating on stocks, etc.) -- even if they have faith, but they're still having a tough time just making it day-to-day.... ? is it enough to have faith, or the understanding that things are just fine however they are?

nice to see you, btw, -- been a long time...........

"so it sounds like it's really a time of increased challenges to having faith" - no, not at all for me. If anything, my faith is amplified not challenged.

"more internal paying attention? " - absolutely!

Correlation? - it's the same thing isn't it? We only "stress" when we don't have "faith" that things are exactly as they are suppose to be.

Can there be stress when there is true faith?? What could there be to worry about when there is faith? (stress is sourced in fear)

It's interesting. A couple months ago I was taking on all the fear that was getting pumped down our throats 24/7 (And I followed the news too much). Now I am moving out of fear(slowly) and into creation. With that choice some interesting possiblities have opened up. I still have an attachment to "security" and knowing things are going to be stable months out, but my experience is reminding me how supported I am if I get out the way (let go of fear) and and open my arms to recieving.

...But secretly, my "business plan" is still to win the lottery ;)

Hm. When I worked as an Options broker back in 99, there was a general agreement that the stock market was about 40% over-inflated. The Dow was at 8000, and zooming toward 11. What we are experiencing now is a correction, and a lot of people panicking. Notice the market is 'bouncing' at 8000. That means, after ten years, that 8000 represents a realistic number. The panic is more likely to do harm than the correction.

My wife and I made good choices six years ago, and though we have little money, we are stable. The free time allowed by working less (less work to be had) has allowed me to do more spiritual practice. The lack of income has forced me to take less classes and practice more. This is a healthy/good thing for me! Time to digest what I've learned! I see it as a blessing.

For me, I do my best to not connect into the fear. I don't really see the current situation as a negative. It seems to me that us humans have gotten addicted to money and stuff, but we usually do have what we need. I see a lot of people scrambling to hold on to "stuff" or a fear of loosing "stuff". I feel like we are being asked on many levels to take responsibility for where we are and how we got here. To get real and get back to what is really important. Like the people who are spending more time with family. I actually quit my job in the middle of all this to follow my heart. I'm doing fine and I believe I'm taken care of on a higher level.

I actually don't believe it is all that bad economically. It seems to me that the media is driving this fear and the more people buy into it, the more they react in fear, the more the market drops, the more down the negative downward spirl it goes. So, as I see it, we have a choice...

For me things are the same as far day to day spending. Each year more money goes out and less coming in but even that has been grounding for me. I have had to take a step back and look at the here and now more clearly. One thing that i have seen with friends is that those i know with children seem to be spending more time with there kids and spending less on the material things that they once did. I have been told it has been a great wake up for many of my friends to look at the bigger picture of life and what means most to them being there family and such. allso it seems to be a large wake up to deepen there sadhana.

hi, everyone --

I'm watching the economy go south, and people getting scared, losing jobs, not sure how they're going to pay their rent and bills. at the same time, it's an age-old principle that loss and heartbreak can be a real vehicle through which to have to connect more to the divine. sometimes we don't think about [insert deity title or euphemism here] until we're really in trouble.

how have the recent economic ups and downs been for you? what do you think about the connection between material upheaval and divine awareness? how is it going... ?
